Saddle in for this weekend’s spring rodeo in Grunthal offering an array of rodeo events, a bull-riding school for the adventurous and, yes, even a dance.

A spring rodeo, a recent staple of Hanover Ag’s yearly offerings, will occupy the community’s rodeo grounds May 27-29.

New this year the rodeo show is presented by the Heartland Rodeo Association, which will trot out the cowboys and cowgirls Saturday from 4:30-7:30 p.m. The Sunday slack is at 9 a.m. and a performance follows at 1 p.m.

Try to tame a bull for yourself—or, instead, watch the thrill seekers—Friday starting at 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in what’s described as the Rough Stock Riding School, which provides instruction in bull riding, steer riding and bullfighting.

The gymkhana will also run Friday night, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Take in a chicken barbecue Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. and then, for the first time, dance the night away in none other than Grunthal. That party starts at 8 p.m.
