A 26-year-old man from Ste Agathe, who was hurt in a pickup truck rollover last Wednesday night, has died.

RCMP said the man succumbed on Friday to injuries sustained in the crash, which occurred near the intersection of Highway 75 and Provincial Road 210.

A St Pierre RCMP officer on patrol came upon the scene around 11:55 p.m. and located the man, who had been ejected from the vehicle, lying unconscious on the roadway.

RCMP said early investigation revealed the northbound pickup truck was attempting to turn eastbound onto PR 210 and as a result of excessive speed, lost control and rolled into the ditch. Police said last week that the driver was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision and it was unknown if alcohol was a factor.
