1,200 customers without power in Steinbach

Manitoba Hydro reports about 1,200 customers will be without power until the early afternoon after an outage first reported around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The public utility said two feeders went down, initially affecting 2,200 customers, including a few businesses along Steinbach’s Main Street.

Hydro said one feeder was restored at 11:05 a.m. The second feeder remains out, with staff on scene replacing the damaged equipment. This outage affects customers east on Loewen Boulevard and Stonebridge Crossing. Estimated time for repairs to be completed is 2:45 p.m.
