2014 school board election candidates

The elections for school trustee in southeastern Manitoba, often the realm of numerous acclamations, is highlighted this year by a busy race in Steinbach.

No less than 11 candidates are competing for a quartet of Steinbach seats on the Hanover School Division board. Back in the 2010 election, only five individuals pursued those four positions.

As usual, the remainder of school board races feature a number of acclamations and a few new faces.

An asterisk denotes an incumbent candidate and each acclamation has been noted.

Hanover School Division
Ward 1 West (Niverville, Bothwell, Kleefeld, Crystal Springs): (two to be elected) Shannon Friesen, Jeff Funk, Ewald Kasdorf, Anna Meneer, Ruby Wiens*

– New catchment boundaries mean the Hanover School Division’s six wards have been realigned to become four wards. The listed incumbents were members of the HSD board in the last term.
