Accident closes Highway 15

A accident involving a semi-trailer has rerouted traffic on Highway 15 west of Anola.

Oakbank RCMP responded to the accident which occurred just before 11:30 a.m. on Cooks Creek Bridge between Dugald and Anola on on Highway 15.

The male driver of the truck, from Nevada, was eastbound when he encountered slush on the road. Extreme winds over the bridge and the slippery road conditions are believed to have caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle. He was not injured.

Traffic is being rerouted from Highway 15 down gravel roads. The RCMP ask motorists to drive with caution and be aware of emergency crews working in the area.
