A boil water advisory is in effect for the community of Landmark.

The water advisory was issued by the province on Friday.

Tache mayor Robert Rivard told The Carillon one of four water samples tested positive for E. coli.

Rivard said the municipality and province agree that the one positive test may reflect a contaminated sample but moved forward with the boil water advisory as precautionary move.

He said more water samples were collected on Friday evening and will be collected again this morning. If those samples come back clear then Rivard said he is hopeful the advisory can be lifted on Monday morning.

More information on boil water advisories can be found on the Province of Manitoba’s website.
