Collision sends two to hospital Monday morning

A semi-truck collided with a pickup truck at the corner of Road 28 N and Highway 12 Monday morning, sending two people to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Hanover Fire Department Chief Paul Wiebe said emergency crews were called out to the scene of the collision around 8:30 a.m. Monday morning.

The driver of the pickup truck was extricated from the vehicle, and both drivers were taken by ground ambulance to hospital with what Wiebe said were “non-life-threatening injuries.”

STARS Air Ambulance also landed on scene, but no one was transported by air from the scene.

Wiebe said the semi-truck was headed southbound when it collided with the pickup truck which was eastbound on Road 28 N.

The intersection of Road 28 N and Highway 12 is currently controlled by stop signs.

More than 500 hogs were on board the semi-truck, but none of the animals were injured as a result of the collision.
