Deadline day to submit nomination

The clock is ticking for candidates interested in seeking one of the more than a hundred municipal council and school board seats available in the Southeast this fall.

The deadline to file your nomination papers is today, and, if you change your mind, the cutoff to withdraw from the race is end of business day on Wednesday. The remaining names will appear on the ballot.

Within a candidate’s completed nomination form, the signed signatures of 25 eligible voters, or 1 percent of the voters of the ward, whichever is less, is required.

Manitobans will go to the polls on Oct. 22.
