Dobrowolski is a councillor in the RM of Macdonald, west of Ritchot.

He touted his over 20 years of municipal experience as he made the announcement and noted his work with others in the Dawson Trail riding as chair of the local planning district. Dobrowolski also pointed out his part in negotiating infrastructure programs with the federal government like the Building Canada Fund and Gas Tax Fund.

“I am eager to earn trust of ratepayers in the riding who can count on me to represent them well at the provincial level when I win the nomination,” he said.

“My experience at local and national levels will allow me to work with neighbours and to create new opportunities in this growing part of our province.

Landmark residents Bob Lagasse and David Sutherland have also indicated that they will seek the PC nomination.

Lemieux has represented the area since 1999.

Municipal leaders including Steinbach mayor Chris Goertzen, Ste Anne reeve Art Bergmann and Morris reeve Ralph Groening were on hand for the announcement.
