Driver pulled from fiery car in Richer crash

A driver and other bystanders yanked a female driver out of a car that had engulfed in flames due to a four-vehicle collision on the Trans-Canada Highway east of Richer Friday evening.
The 41-year-old female driver of the car suffered severe injuries and remains in critical condition, says Steinbach RCMP.
A pickup truck travelling at a high rate of speed rear-ended a car that had slowed down because it was entering a construction zone near Provincial Road 51E. The car then hit the trailer of the SUV it was trailing, which, as a result, smacked the van in front. The SUV and car both started on fire.
The 45-year-old male driver of the SUV helped pull the female driver from her car. He sustained minor injuries. His three children were not hurt.
The 38-year-old female driver of the van and her passengers escaped injury.
The female driver, 32, of the pickup truck and her lone passenger endured minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital.
Everyone involved in the crash resides in Winnipeg.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
Traffic detoured around the incident until around 4 a.m.
