Drug investigation leads to charges

Five Steinbach-area residents face numerous charges after Steinbach RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in Steinbach last Thursday. Inside the home, police said they found marijuana, Canadian currency and a number of prohibited weapons.

An investigation by the local detachment’s general investigative unit had revealed that marijuana was alleged to have been trafficked from the home and on neighbouring school properties.

Cameron Sass, 19, Trenton Sass, 23, Nathan Botham, 19, and Dylan Hildebrand, 20, of Steinbach, along with Lillian Morrisseau, 18, of Mitchell, all face charges related to marijuana trafficking, prohibited weapon possession, and possession of property obtained by crime.

All five will appear in Steinbach court on Feb. 5.

A 21-year-old male from Steinbach was also arrested on Dec. 13 but has not yet been formally charged.
