With the writ potentially being dropped this weekend for the Oct. 19 federal election, Provencher MP Ted Falk continued to be busy with a series of announcements throughout the riding.

No federal funding announcements are permitted during an election campaign. Falk made a series of smaller funding announcements on Thursday.

On Friday he continued, announcing that Steinbach, Niverville, Tache and Hanover will all be beneficiaries through the federal government’s small communities fund.

Steinbach will receive $4 million in federal support for planned water and sewer line upgrades. Niverville gets $2 million towards water line installation. Tache will benefit from $3.6 million towards water infrastructure upgrades in Landmark. Hanover is being handed $1.5 for a new wastewater lift station and forcemain in Blumenort.

The province and individual municipalities will each match the federal government’s contribution.
