Provencher MP Ted Falk is safe after an attack on Parliament Hill in Ottawa on Wednesday morning.

Falk’s executive assistant Mike Cancade confirmed to The Carillon that the local MP has told his local office that he is safe but Parliament remains in lockdown after the violent morning incident.

Reports say a soldier standing guard at the National War Memorial was shot by a gunman who then entered Parliament’s Centre Block building. The gunman is said to have been shot and killed outside MP caucus rooms.

Another suspect is believed to still be at large.
