Fatal snowmobile crash in Tache

A 21-year-old man died after a snowmobile crash in the RM of Tache.
RCMP said in a release that the man had left an Ile des Chenes residence on Monday night around 10:30 p.m. and rode his snowmobile toward his home in the RM of Tache.
When he did not arrive, family members went out in search for him. He was found on Tuesday in the west ditch of Provincial Road 207, near the intersection of Prairie Grove Road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the deceased was wearing a helmet. They also noted that it extremely cold, with low visibility and heavy blowing snow on the evening of Dec. 19 and suggested weather conditions and speed may be contributing factors in the collision.
Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
