Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in a two-vehicle collision west of Marchand Sunday morning that sent five people to hospital.

RCMP say the five adults were taken to Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach and Ste Anne Hospital with undisclosed injuries following the overnight crash on Provincial Road 210, about three kilometres west of Marchand. Police responded to the scene around 2:45 a.m. None of the occupants’ injuries appear to be life-threatening, police say.

PR 210 was closed for about five hours as a result of the crash.

A RCMP traffic analyst is involved in the police’s investigation.
