A four-year-old girl has died after being hurt in an ATV rollover on Wednesday afternoon in the Marchand area near Twin River Road and Provincial Road 210.
Steinbach RCMP said a report was received shortly after 3:30 p.m. that a girl had been taken to local hospital by her father with injuries sustained in an off-road vehicle collision.
Police spoke to the 32-year-old father at the hospital. Police said the man, who was not injured in the incident, described that his daughter was seated in front of him as they were travelling up a hill on an ATV, when it flipped over backwards onto both riders before continuing to roll down the hill.
Alcohol is not considered a factor in the crash. The four-year-old was wearing a helmet.
A RCMP forensic collision reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
