Gardenton man stable following alleged assault

A 36-year-old man from Gardenton is in stable condition after he sustained head trauma from an alleged assault.

RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Bert Paquet said the victim was dropped off at the Vita and District Health Centre before 10 p.m. Wednesday, with head injuries consistent with an assault victim.

Police were alerted and contact was made with STARS air ambulance, which airlifted the patient to a Winnipeg hospital.

The RCMP’s preliminary investigation has led them to two persons of interests, both males. They believe the assault was targeted.

Paquet said charges have not been immediately laid.
