A 52-year-old Hadashville man is in critical condition after a four-vehicle crash northeast of Carman on Thursday evening.

Carman and Headingley RCMP responded to a report just after 6:30 p.m. of the collision at the intersection of Highway 2 and Provincial Road 248. A southbound pickup truck, driven by the man now in hospital, entered the intersection and collided with an eastbound semi truck. The southbound pickup was then struck by a westbound pickup truck and then struck again by an eastbound pickup truck.

A passenger in the southbound pickup was not hurt. The occupants of the other vehicles also escaped injury.

Road conditions and alcohol are not considered factors. It is unknown at this time if the driver was wearing a seatbelt.

RCMP note that traffic remains delayed at the scene while the crash is investigated and request drivers proceed with caution when passing emergency personnel.
