The Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) has awarded the Hanover School Division’s Clearspring Middle School with LEED Gold certification.

“The LEED certification testifies to the cooperative work of our divisional staff, building planners, architects, construction firms, and even students. We thank all those who contributed to this project, and are proud of this significant educational and environmental achievement,” said Hanover superintendent Randy Dueck in a release.

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is a rating system that is recognized as the international mark of excellence for green building in 150 countries. Certified, Silver, Gold, and Platinum levels of LEED certification are awarded based on the total number of points earned within six categories: sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, indoor environmental quality, innovation and design.
