Steinbach RCMP arrested a 32-year-old male early this morning who claimed he would harm people and police.

RCMP attended a residence in La Broquerie about 1 a.m. Friday where they took into custody an individual they deemed to be “high-risk.” RCMP were then led to an associated residence in Richer where they seized a quantity of firearms.

Police received a report of threats being uttered Thursday around 6 p.m.

The arrested male, formerly of Steinbach and currently living in Saskatchewan, and a 33-year-old female from Muskoday First Nation in Saskatchewan were arrested for uttering threats.

No one was injured during the arrests and both suspects remain in custody.

The investigation is ongoing.
