The boil water advisory for the community of Landmark has been lifted as of Monday morning.

The advisory, issued on Friday by the province, was in effect over the weekend after one of four routine water samples tested positive for E. coli last Wednesday.

Tache mayor Robert Rivard told The Carillon this morning that more samples were collected on Friday and Saturday morning and they did not test positive for contaminates.

“There were three good samples and one bad sample all in the same day.” Rivard said after being asked if the advisory was more than a precaution. “You can’t err, you have to err on the side of caution.”

The municipality is now placing notices around the community and on their website informing citizens that the advisory has expired and the water is now safe to drink.
