The Giroux Hall will come alive with the smells and sounds of a big celebration Saturday evening as the Steinbach and area Lion’s Club invites the public to join them for dinner and dancing as they acknowledge many accomplishments since starting up 40 years ago.

“We’re going to be having a fun night at the Giroux Hall where we were originally chartered,” said project coordinator Hank Klassen. “We’re going back to our old stomping grounds with good food, a live band and dignitaries.”

The Lion’s Club also has a new pamphlet to hand out to people who want to know what the club does and how members get involved in the community. A well-known project is the annual car show every June to support the donation of wheelchairs.

“The Lions Club has donated over 100 wheelchairs in the past 40 years. We also do a lot of work with the Bethesda Foundation and the eye bank.”

The celebration on Saturday is open to the public. It starts at 5:30 with cocktails, dinner and dancing to follow when Classic Embers take the stage.

Tickets can be purchased by calling 204-422-8501 or 204-326-2313.
