A 26-year-old man now has a pair of indecent act convictions to his name, after being sentenced in Steinbach court on Thursday.
Dale Reinke pleaded guilty to the charges in March, which stemmed from his arrest following incidents of public masturbation in Steinbach last fall. "Twenty-six years old and this comes out of the blue?" he asked.
Reinke was handed an 18-month suspended sentence, as was recommended in a joint submission from the Crown and defence. Among several additional requirements, Reinke will undergo sexual offender programming, substance abuse counselling, and is barred from contacting the complainants in the case. He is also banned from attending public parks, pools or schools, though a provision was made for him to do so for work purposes.
A 29-year-old Steinbach man was arrested on Friday morning in Winnipeg and faces several charges including fraud and theft.
