Man in custody after incident near Sundown

A 41-year-old male from the RM of Piney faces several charges and remains in custody after an early Wednesday morning incident east of Sundown.
Police were called to a residence on Provincial Road 201 shortly after 2:30 a.m.
After an argument, the suspect is alleged to have discharged a firearm in the direction of another man without injuring him. The intended victim fled and contact police.
The RCMP’s emergency response team was dispatched to the scene. The suspect was eventually taken into custody without incident.
The highway, which was closed to traffic, was reopened around 11:30 a.m.
