Falcon Beach RCMP seized 200 pounds of marijuana in a search of a tractor trailer on the Trans-Canada Highway on Tuesday.
RCMP said in a release that at about 3:30 p.m. police were called to the West Hawk scales where the vehicle was being inspected for load securement.
A search of the trailer uncovered 132 packages of marijuana, which had been vacuum sealed and packed into cardboard boxes.
The trailer was en route from Surrey, B.C. to Toronto. The driver of the vehicle, a 67-year-old man from Welland, ON, now faces possible drug trafficking charges.
