Jim and Kathy Hitch will be speaking in Mitchell this weekend with a big focus on healing past hurts to improve today’s relationships. They have been married for 33 years and found a lot of their relationship difficulties were related to things they had experienced before they got married.

A few couples from the Steinbach area decided they would organize the conference with expectations that the couple from Nebraska would be able to have a positive and healing impact on marriages here in southeastern Manitoba.

“Most of us have been out to Nebraska to see them for a whole week of counseling with really good results,” said Anna Rempel. “We thought we should bring them here to do a seminar.”

There is no admission fee but donations are being accepted to help cover the presenter’s fee.

Jim and Kathy will share their life experience and lessons they learned. They will also help people take a closer look at the root of their pain that is impacting relationships with people they love.

“The way Jim speaks, he’s very caring,” added Rempel. “They care for the heart. They try to see into the heart and what has caused the pain.”

The marriage conference is titled “It’s Never Too Late to Live Happily Ever After” and it begins this evening at 7:30 p.m. at Mitchell Senior Centre. It will continue tomorrow from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
