Steinbach RCMP have received a number of complaints recently about motorists failing to properly stop at intersections within the town of Mitchell.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, Steinbach RCMP conducted enforcement in the community of Mitchell where they focused on intersections. Eight common offense notices were issued to motorists who disobeyed a traffic control device, namely a stop sign.

Steinbach RCMP respond to numerous intersection related motor vehicle collision each year and want to remind motorists that they must come to a complete stop at intersections where they are required to stop by a traffic control device, whether it is a red light or a stop sign.

The penalty for disobeying a traffic control device is $203.80. As well, the driver could face administration penalties on their licenses from MPIC.
