One person hospitalized in collision

One person was sent to hospital with undisclosed injuries following a two-vehicle crash in Steinbach.

A Volkswagen car turning west onto Elmdale Street from Reimer Avenue failed to properly yield, colliding with a GMC Yukon travelling southbound on Reimer, said a Steinbach RCMP officer who heard from witnesses.

A half-block of Reimer Avenue was closed to traffic for a half-hour beginning shortly before 4 p.m. A firefighter redirected traffic at the intersection while emergency crews tended to the scene.
