One person hospitalized in crash

One driver has been sent to hospital after a vehicle that failed to stop at a controlled intersection ran into the truck he was driving southeast of Blumenort.

Steinbach RCMP Cst. Craig Klem said early reports indicate the driver of a black Dodge truck travelling northbound on Road 36E ran a stop sign, colliding with a green Dodge truck heading west on Road 40N around 1 p.m. Friday.

The extent of injuries for the driver of the green truck are unknown. Charges are pending against the other driver.

Two vehicles were involved in a collision about a half-hour later at the Steinbach intersection of Highway 12 and Main Street. The drivers of both vehicles involved in the dust-up exchanged information and police services were not required.
