Anyone driving past the Menisino cemetery along Provincial Road 201 early this week may have noticed something amiss. A huge section of the cemetery’s chain link fence was ripped down with many of its support posts twisted every which way.

Steinbach RCMP Staff Sgt. Harold Laninga said the incident was reported to police last Saturday night. It is believed the accident occurred around 9 a.m. on Saturday morning. Laninga said investigation revealed that a vehicle caused the damage.

A 56-year-old male resident of the RM of Piney is now facing charges of leaving the scene of an accident and driving without a licence.
