Pole fire causes Steinbach power outage

Around 900 customers in the Steinbach area were without power for close to five hours this evening.

Manitoba Hydro spokesperson Scott Powell said a pole fire near the intersection of Hirschfeld Road and High Point Lane, east of the city, caused the outage, which ran from 5:15-9:45 p.m.

Powell said two feeders were off in Steinbach as a result. 

The crew on scene replaced the damaged pole.
