Police catch Mitchell speeders

Steinbach RCMP responded to public concerns of motorists driving too fast on Center Street South in Mitchell and set up speed enforcement on Apr. 4.

Six motorists were busted for speeding violations, including a 17-year-old male for clocking 142 km/hr in a 70 km/hr zone. The teenager was also issued a notice for imprudent driving under the Highway Traffic Act.

RCMP ticketed four other people for driving between 20 and 21 km above the posted limit. Another driver was caught travelling 40 km over.
