Steinbach RCMP billed themselves as “surprise guests” at a Steinbach house party on Saturday night.

Sadly for others in attendance, the only thing officers brought with them to the party was $7,259.20 in fines.

In a release on Monday morning, RCMP said members arrived at the Cedar Crescent home after complaints about the large party.

Provincial offence notices were issued to seven minors for consuming liquor which amounts to a $673.65 fine. Police said a property representative was also issued an offence notice for providing alcohol to minors which carries a fine amount of $2543.65.

In addition, a 19-year-old man attending the party was taken into custody on four charges of breaching court conditions.
