The Manitoba government will be hosting pre-budget public consultations across the province throughout October and November.

Finance Minister Jennifer Howard will meet will “key economic advisors” on Oct. 20, followed by several community meetings and telephone town halls.

In southeastern Manitoba, a consultation meeting will be held Wednesday, Nov. 12 at the Lorette Parish Hall in Lorette, 1282 Dawson Rd. If you want, you can register ahead by calling 204-878-4644.

There will also be meeting in Arborg, Swan River, Brandon and Dauphin.

The rural Manitoba telephone town hall will be Friday, Nov. 21 from 7-8 p.m. You can register online at www.gov.mb.ca/finance/consult/intro.html. The telephone format provides an update from the minister, as well as letting participants vote on budget priorities, ask questions about the upcoming budget and share their ideas.

Manitobans can also contact the minister of finance’s office in Winnipeg at 204-945-3952 to register for any of the sessions.

A pre-budget online survey can be found on the Manitoba Finance website at www.gov.mb.ca/finance/consult/intro.html.

Some people will be contacted randomly and invited to join the telephone town hall.

The provincial government releases its budget in the spring.
