RCMP have arrested two individuals that successfully evaded police multiple times.

Matthew Martens, 23, of Coaldale, Alb, and Brittany Kehler, 24, of Winnipeg, have been charged on numerous counts after they got the police’s attention for an armed robbery in La Broquerie and a vehicle theft in Falcon Lake. On Friday, attempts to initially apprehend the suspects had failed.

The next day, RCMP attempted to stop the suspects by closing the roadway at Highway 302 and the Trans-Canada Highway. While trying to escape, the suspects drove their vehicle toward an RCMP officer. The officer, who endured minor injuries, discharged his firearm in response. The suspects were not injured while trying to evade the police again. They fled south on Highway 302.
