RCMP make arrest in Roseau River death

RCMP are currently investigating a homicide at Roseau River First Nation, after making an arrest in the death of a 14-year-old male.

On Nov. 17, RCMP arrested an 18-year-old male for the Mar. 1 first-degree murder of Hyde Hayden, 14.

Hayden’s body was discovered outside Ginew School on Roseau River First Nation.

The accused was arrested in Morden without incident, RCMP said.

The accused, who was 17 at the time of the offence, cannot be named in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The accused was remanded into custody and will appear in Winnipeg court this afternoon.
