Steinbach will host its first ever renewable energy show on Saturday, with a tailored focus on how southeastern Manitoba can benefit.

Local experts and vendors will descend on the city’s Mennonite Heritage Village tomorrow afternoon to provide one-on-one access to professional expertise in geothermal, solar, biomass and other emerging technologies.

Attendees are invited to tour the booths of local vendors and take in speeches from the varied speakers who will delve into Manitoba’s path to a more sustainable future. They will discuss home projects of all sorts, global economics and development, among other environmental interests.

Invited speakers include Bruce Duggan (director of Providence University College’s business school), Justin Phillips (president of Sycamore Energy), Daniel Lepp Friesen (owner of an energy and management consulting firm) and Lorena Mitchell (president of EvolveGreen.ca).

The event, organized by South Eastman Transition Initiative, runs Apr. 16 from 1-5 p.m. at MHV. Tickets are $10 when purchased online or $15 at the door.
