A 23-year-old man from Winnipeg ejected from a car during a rollover near Richer Wednesday morning was pronounced dead at the scene, RCMP said.

Police received a report of the crash a kilometre east of Richer around 5:45 a.m. Their initial investigation reported that the 23-year-old was seated in the rear of the vehicle and was not wearing a seatbelt. He was ejected once the westbound car hit the ditch.

Alcohol and speed appear to be contributing factors in the crash.
