Anyone looking for something to do on Louis Riel Day on Monday may want to consider an afternoon of theatre courtesy of the Steinbach Arts Council.

Three shows featuring local actors will be mounted at the Steinbach Cultural Arts Centre on Feb. 20.

At 1:30 p.m., Phoebe’s Friends Improv Show, featuring Alan Fehr, Daniel Piche and Sherri Pierce, will entertain audiences of all ages as they take audience suggestions and spin them into improvised fun on the spot.

Merry Men follows at 3 p.m. Performers Jeremy Plett, Malcolm Roulette, Alex Reimer and Kenton Dyck present a comedic look at the story of Robin Hood.

Finally, the Bard will bring down the house as Katie De Roo, Cora Fast and Michael Dueck present The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)!, a fast and furious comedic romp through all of Shakespeare’s works.

Tickets are $10 per show. Tickets for two or more shows can be purchased for $8 each. The arts council will retain a portion of the ticket sales for this event, unlike other fringe theatre festivals which provide box office sales solely to performers.
