A woman had to be extracted from her vehicle with the Jaws of Life after her truck ran off the roadway and seemingly slammed into a hydro pole.

Fire departments from Grunthal and Kleefeld responded around 2:15 p.m. Monday to the one-vehicle collision about a mile north of Pansy.

The driver was travelling southbound on Road 33E when she lost control, said Grunthal fire chief Paul Wiebe, who suggested the vehicle probably flipped in the ditch. He said the woman’s injuries appeared to be non-life threatening. She was taken by air ambulance to a Winnipeg hospital.
