STARS went airborne late last night to Ste Agathe to assist a patient who sustained a “traumatic injury from a fall.”

Emergency personnel were whisked away at 11:19 p.m. Thursday night after the fall occurred at a residence in the Ste Agathe area, a STARS spokesperson explained.

The air ambulance landed on a side road adjacent to Highway 75, approximately five kilometres north of Ste Agathe, where they met with ground EMS. The STARS medical team then went inside the ground ambulance and provided care to the patient on the way to Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg.

Age, gender and condition of the patient were not disclosed.

Snowy conditions on Thursday night forced STARS to land at a safer location, north of Ste Agathe, rather than closer to the residence.
