The K.R.Barkman Park in Steinbach was filled with overnight guests as CEOs participated in the 2nd annual CEO Sleepout to raise funds for the local homeless shelter while learning more about homelessness in the community.

Over 67 people registered for the event which included tours of community supports for people during difficult circumstances. The sky was mostly clear for the evening but the wind picked up around midnight. There were cardboard boxes, sleeping bags and a few tarps to keep the weather from people who were trying to sleep.

Funds raised from the event will go toward a capital campaign to purchase the local shelter, Today House.

While some people were trying to sleep in the park last night, a few participants of the CEO Sleepout in Steinbach stayed up into the night, visiting while keeping warm thanks to a barrel fire nearby.
