Manitoba’s only professional rodeo saddles up for its return this weekend.

The 52nd Manitoba Stampede and Exhibition, which runs July 21 to 24 in Morris, touts dozens of professional rodeo events and fun for the entire family.

The exhibition features traditional rodeo events like bareback, saddlebronc, steer wrestling, tie-down roping, team roping, barrel racing and bull fighting throughout the weekend.

The Manitoba Professional Chuckwagon & Chariot Association brings pony chariot and chuckwagon racing to the stampede. Watch as teams of two or four horses hooked to a modified version of a traditional chuckwagon or Roman-style chariot navigate a figure 8 barrel pattern and race around the half mile track.

A free pancake breakfast will be served Friday morning from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. next to Access Credit Union.

A parade will make its way down Lucinda Street Saturday at 10 a.m.

RCMP Musical Rides return to the rodeo this year—taking place Saturday at 2 and 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

Musical acts TyDanDown, Almost Famous and Aaron Starr are all scheduled to perform.

For a break from the rodeo events, take a whirl on some of the midway rides—which run throughout the weekend.

If you’re between the ages of 10 and 25 and have a talent you’d like to show off, join the Manitoba Youth Talent Competition and compete for a cash prize.

Event passes are available online. Thursday or Friday single day passes are $20. Saturday or Sunday single day passes are $25. Family and VIP passes are also available. Children six years old and under receive free admission.
