A 26-year-old man from Ste Agathe was transported late Wednesday night to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a rollover near the intersection of Highway 75 and Provincial Road 210.

A St Pierre RCMP officer on patrol came upon the scene around 11:55 p.m. The officer located the driver of the pickup truck, who had been ejected, lying unconscious on the roadway and began administering CPR while waiting for EMS to arrive.

RCMP said early investigation has revealed the northbound pickup truck was attempting to turn eastbound onto PR 210 and as a result of excessive speed, lost control and rolled into the ditch. The driver was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision and it is unknown if alcohol was a factor.

RCMP continue their investigation.
