A marijuana grow-op in Steinbach has been dismantled after a search warrant was executed by police on Friday.

Members of the Steinbach RCMP’s general investigation section conducted the investigation which led the detachment to a residence on Carleton Drive.

Police say the street value of the drugs seized in the search was $179,000.

A 41-year-old female and 49-year-old male now face charges of producing a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

RCMP would not release the names of the accused because charges have not been officially laid but said both are scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 5.
