A 22-year-old Steinbach man was not injured in a collision yesterday afternoon when his semi-trailer crashed into a GMC Sierra on Highway #1 near Oak Lake.

Virden RCMP are investigating the incident, reporting that the red Sierra entered the westbound lane of the #1 from PR 254, in front of the white Volvo semi-trailer. The driver of the rig was unable to avoid the impact and collided with the Sierra.

Both vehicles landed in the opposite ditches. The semi-trailer was transporting large beams of steel which became loose and spread onto the highway.
