Crash claims life of Steinbach motorcyclist

A 43-year-old Steinbach man died Friday night of injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash on Provincial Road 205 about six kilometers west of Carey.

St Pierre RCMP responded to a report of the crash around 7:50 p.m.

Police said the male driver of the motorcycle was found lying in a ditch. First responders already on the scene provided medical assistance but the man succumbed to his significant injuries.

No other individuals or vehicles were involved in the crash. The driver was wearing a helmet and alcohol is not considered a factor.

Police said in a release on Saturday morning that an investigation into the crash is ongoing.
