What would you do if you were stranded on a deserted island?

Eight brave community leaders, including two local residents, can soon answer that very question when the STARS air ambulance service drops them off to a remote part of the province as a fundraising effort

Brad LeMay, LeMazing Mechancial owner and member of the Grunthal Lions Club, and Fred Hiebert, United Transportation Driver Training owner, have taken the STARS Rescue on the Island challenge this year.

On Wednesday, the eight business leaders will participate in numerous challenges and dial their cell phones to raise more funds for the air ambulance service. If they do so, they’ll be flown back to Winnipeg.

Doug Wiens of Grunthal participated in the inaugural event last year.

Fundraising has been ongoing and will continue throughout the day on Wednesday. To assist their cause, you can donate to Brad LeMay’s efforts here and to Fred Hiebert’s cause here.
