Sunrise approves three percent increase

Sunrise School Division trustees have approved $65,087,657 in expenditures in their budget for the 2017-18 school year, a one percent increase over the previous year.

The division’s mill rate will increase three percent from 13.295 mills to 13.694 mills in the coming year.

Provincial funding for Sunrise has declined by nearly $400,000 this year. The division will collect an additional $1.5 million through taxation in the coming year.
