Suspicious man sought was exercising

The report of a suspicious man in Lorette that prompted temporary school lockdowns Monday was simply a man who went outside for a run.

Police say a 20-year-old man from Lorette identified himself to St Pierre-Jolys RCMP just before 9:30 p.m. yesterday to report that he was the man pictured on Facebook wearing what looked like a soft body armour vest.

The man said he had been exercising in his home, and donned a weight vest, or athletic training vest, to go for a run as a cool down. He turned over his vest to RCMP.

Police will not be laying any charges.
